How to Pray for Israel: A Biblical Guide for Effective Intercession

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they be secure who love you!" (Psalm 122:6). This isn't a suggestion—it's a command from God's Word. But how do we pray effectively for Israel?

Pray for Salvation (Romans 10:1)

The greatest need of the Jewish people is the same as every person: salvation through Yeshua the Messiah. Paul's heart cry should be ours: "My heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved."

Pray for the Messianic Community

There are an estimated 30,000 Messianic Jewish believers living in Israel today. Pray for:

  • Their spiritual growth and protection
  • Boldness to share their faith
  • Unity among Messianic congregations
  • Provision for their families and ministries
  • Pray for Protection

Israel faces constant threats from those who seek its destruction. Pray for:

  • The safety of Israeli citizens
  • Wisdom for Israel's leaders and military
  • God's supernatural protection over the land
  • Pray for Revival

Zechariah 12:10 prophesies a day when God will pour out "a spirit of grace and supplication" on Israel. Pray for this spiritual awakening to come!

    Pray with Scripture

Use God's own words as your prayers:

  • Psalm 122 - Peace for Jerusalem
  • Isaiah 62:1-7 - For Zion's sake
  • Ezekiel 37 - The valley of dry bones coming to life
  • Make It a Habit

Set aside regular time to pray for Israel. Consider joining our prayer network to receive weekly prayer points and updates from the land.
